Sons of the American Revolution

The Rim Country Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution will meet Saturday, Jan. 21, 8 a.m. at Tiny’s Restaurant.

If you are interested in tracing your ancestry back to the Revolutionary War, our organization has members who assist in this endeavor, and we invite you to attend out meetings.

Strawberry Investment Group issues invitation

Learn about Grand Canyon archaeology

The Rim Country Chapter of the Arizona Archaeological Society invites all who are interested in Arizona pre-history to attend monthly presentations by knowledgeable and interesting guest speakers. The chapter meets the third Saturday of each month. This month only, it meets at the Senior Center, 514 W. Main St., Payson; the program begins at 10 a.m.  

On Saturday, Jan. 21 the group hosts Ellen Brennan, cultural resource program manager at Grand Canyon National Park, who will give the program, “Grand Canyon Archaeology: Excavations along the Colorado River” and focuses on the findings of an excavation project that took place along the Colorado River through Grand Canyon National Park between 2006 and 2009.

Please take this opportunity to learn more about Arizona’s preeminent treasure, the Grand Canyon, and about the activities the Rim Country Chapter of Arizona Archaeological Society.

The Payson Area Singles club has no dues or elections.

Forest Park Homeowners group

The Forest Park Homeowners Association board of directors will meet at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 203 N. Parkwood Lane, Payson. Any homeowner with concerns or questions is welcome to attend.

The Annual Homeowners Association meeting is planned for Feb. 18, the time and location are to be determined.

NARFE meeting

The Mogollon Chapter 1235 of the National Association of Active and Retired Employees will hold its monthly, no host luncheon and meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 25 beginning at 11:30 a.m. and ending at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at Tiny’s Restaurant, 600 E. Highway 260, Payson. The guest speaker will be Payson Town Councilor John Wilson.

All active and retired federal employees are invited to attend. Please remember Payson’s veterans and bring a non-perishable food item.

Tea Party Bulldogs

The Tea Party Bulldogs is a discussion group that will tackle local issues of concern and come up with action plans.

It meets at Wolfden Espresso, 612 N. Beeline Highway, at noon Wednesdays.

On Jan. 25, the discussion will be about Public-Private Partnerships; ASU; and toll roads.

Rim Country Corvettes welcomes new members

The Rim Country Corvettes is not a formal club with meetings, dues, etc. It is a group of Corvette owners from the Rim Country who enjoy driving their special cars and meeting new Corvette owners with the same interests.

There is a monthly run and we advise each of the members via the Internet and meet at a specified location within the town of Payson to start the run.
