A vigil in memory of Payson High School junior Saige Bloom will be held 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30 on “Walmart Hill” located just north of the store and on the west side of SR 87.
The vigil site is just yards from where the 17-year-old was killed Friday when she reportedly lost control of her SUV after the accelerator stuck, sending her speeding through afternoon traffic, according to police.
Kevin Kelley, who has children attending PHS, said the accident “has impacted the entire school and the town.”
Bloom’s friends and fellow students are preparing various tributes to take to the vigil.
At PHS, Bloom was an honor student, member of Renaissance and on the Lady Longhorn track and field team competing in sprint and relay events.
The public is invited to attend the vigil.
