Hello again, fellow Creekers.
Due to an overwhelming response from the community and visitors, this is Part 2 of the 2nd Annual Christopher Creek July 4th Celebration and Independence Day Parade. It was a fun event that many came out to enjoy.
A very special thanks to those “Creekers” who helped organize, took the reins, shared ideas, wrote the articles and posted the flyers so that all went well. A special thanks goes to the local businesses who provided hospitality and to the Christopher Kohl’s Fire Department for traffic control. Great job!
“This is what a small town in America is all about, people coming together. Looking forward to seeing everyone again in 2013,” said John Mitchell, grand marshal of the parade.
Also, the C-K FireBelles had great success with their bake sale on June 30. The FireBelles raise money for the C-K Fire Department, especially to pay for training for the staff, purchase equipment, etc. The FireBelles raised more than $170 by selling wonderful baked goods contributed by members of the community. Sheila Marcum is the new incoming president and organized the event.
In addition to the $170 plus raised at the bake sale, the community owes a big thank you to two big community donors who really helped out the FireBelles over the last several weeks.
As always, I do need your help with content and stories! For anyone wanting to submit information from the Christopher Creek area for inclusion in our weekly article, please email me at: info@christophercreek lodge.com. Any submitted pictures must be full-size (typically around 1MB per picture). The cutoff time for inclusion in Friday’s article is close of business on Monday.
Thanks again for reading the column,
