Plenty Of Events Still On Calendar

The summer season might be winding down, but there are still plenty of events taking place around the community.

The Payson Event Center is hosting a couple of horse-related activities prior to the big August rodeo, softball will be heating up Rumsey Park, and there is even an opportunity to start exercising those basketball skills in early August.

This weekend, July 28-29, the National Versatility Ranch Horse Association Rim Country Round-up will be at the Payson Event Center.

Also this weekend, the Payson Fast-Pitch Invitational Softball Tournament, starts at 8 a.m., Saturday at Rumsey Park.

On Aug. 4 there will be a 3-on-3 basketball tournament at Julia Randall Elementary School gym. Players must be 12 years of age or older. Cost is $30 per team.

The tournament starts at 9 a.m.

Six age divisions will compete, with three members per team. Prizes will be awarded for the top team in each age division.

Advance registration is recommended.
