Hello again fellow Creekers.
On June 6, 2012 the Muscular Dystrophy Association came to Whispering Hope Ranch located on Colcord Road 27 miles east of Payson. The children had a wonderful time interacting with the animals and just having fun.
Christopher-Kohl’s Fire Department helped out with the fun, letting the youngsters squirt water with the fire hoses. Even Chief Rob Jarvis was not exempt from the “big squirt guns” along with many others. The children were between the ages of 6 and 12. This week, those 13 to 18 had their chance to shoot the “big squirt guns.”
MDA used to conduct the camp in Heber-Overgaard, but had decided to give Whispering Hope Ranch a chance, and it appears the campers had a great time.
Whispering Hope Ranch is used to conducting this type of camp, and has the expertise with the campers to make the event a memorable one. With all the animals, both wild and domestic, that the campers can see or interact with, it does make an impression.
Chief Rob Jarvis said, “We really enjoyed watching and taking part in seeing the campers having a great time. We at the Christopher-Kohl’s Fire Department look forward to seeing the MDA group many more times, it is a great organization and does so much for the kids. We wish to thank both the MDA organization and the Whispering Hope Ranch for letting us be a part of the MDA campers’ experience.”
