Payson Elks Lodge calendar of events
Elks members and guests are welcome to enjoy lunch at the Lodge from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday; Friday dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday dinner from noon to 5 p.m.
Basic refreshments are offered for sale at the Karaoke Night from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday in March and during the Elks Jam Sessions, scheduled at 3 p.m., every Saturday in March, except March 31.
Every Friday the Elks also have Karaoke from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Every Sunday there is Bingo at 1 p.m. and a pool tournament at 4:30 p.m. with Happy Hour from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Elks members and guests are welcome at all these events.

Computer association to meet March 2
The Payson Area Computer Association will meet at 6:30 p.m., Friday, March 2 in the meeting room of the Payson Public Library, 328 N. McLane Road.
Guests are always welcome. The first meeting is always free. Membership is only $10 per year, per family.
Ponderosa Men’s Breakfast
The monthly Ponderosa Bible Church’s Men’s Breakfast will be at 8 a.m., Saturday, March 3.
Keith Talley and his team will prepare a fabulous “Breakfast for a Buck” and then Bob Franklin will share his exciting true story about how God recently gave him amazing peace and then healing as he went through life-threatening heart problems.
Bring your neighbors and other friends to enjoy this special meeting and fellowship, where breakfast is still available for just $1.

American Legion Riders to meet Saturday
The American Legion Riders’ March meeting is at Tiny’s Restaurant on Saturday, March 3.
Breakfast is at 9:15 a.m., with a business meeting to follow at 10 a.m.
Members will be preparing the group’s annual pre-run mailer to the members of Rim Country Chamber of Commerce.

Unity of Payson topic is ‘Expressing God’
Rev Meghan Smith joins Unity of Payson from Unity of the White Mountains to complete the five-part series on Unity Principles. She will help members delve into the 5th Principle, “Expressing God.”

Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness
Gabrielle Marie will be the guest speaker at the Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness service at 11 a.m., Sunday, March 4. Her talk is “2012 Your Best Year Yet.” She will discuss how to make it practical so that you can become your most brilliant self. The service will be followed by a workshop from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

XaLt! Worship is aimed at people who wish to explore their walk with God; seekers, de-churched and anyone with questions.

• Tuesday Morning Breakfast Bunch meets at Tiny’s Restaurant every week at 9 a.m. to visit and plan future activities.
• Coming up in March there will be a bus trip to Cliff Castle Casino in Camp Verde.
• Thursday, March 29, members will travel to the world famous Outdoor Easter Pageant in Mesa.

Buddhist meditation and study group
Westerners have been attracted to Buddhism in part because of its practical aspects. The basic teachings of Buddhist philosophy are simple and applicable in daily life. It is a guide to transforming human suffering into wisdom, inner peace and enlightenment through understanding the nature of self and reality, and through compassion. Buddhists believe that we are each responsible for our own morality by the choices that we make.
The Payson Buddhist Meditation and Study group meets from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Mondays at the Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness, 107 W. Wade Lane.

Spring clean and help Almost New Thrift Shop
The Almost New Thrift Shop will accept gently used items residents want to part with during spring cleaning.
Donors will be given a receipt if desired. Proceeds will help support the programs of the Mogollon Health Alliance.
The Mogollon Health Alliance and its volunteer Auxiliary operate the Almost New Thrift Store. It is located at the back of 308 E. Aero Drive in Payson.
