We have a very important issue to address with the upcoming election. The extension of the alternative expenditure limitation for the Town of Star Valley (Home Rule).
It is absolutely imperative that we pass this with a yes vote! Let me explain the reasons for this: First, if we do not pass this, there is a very good chance that everything the town has accomplished to date will stop. By this I mean, the newly acquired water department, the continuing work on our streets and additional projects that will improve our town.
Secondly, we will not have the funds to even run our town hall! Let alone deal with any emergencies that might arise. If this does not pass, we in effect will be giving our town over to the state to manage our finances. This, I believe no one would ever want that to happen to Star Valley.
As you may know, Star Valley is one of a very few towns in Arizona that is in the black, and financially sound, unlike our state. Do you want those people managing our finances?
Please join me and our town council in voting yes for Proposition 400 (Home Rule) and let Star Valley continue to make its own decisions about managing our future.
Thank you for supporting Home Rule.
