Hello again fellow Creekers.
The Annual Taste of Rim Country Chef’s competition was held at the Payson Library on March 3. Many area chefs, caterers, and restaurants competed in this event including: Au Natural Cafe at Healthy Perspectives, Gerardo’s Firewood Café, Ayothaya Thai Cafe, Cedar Ridge Restaurant, Cardo’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant, Laura’s Small Café with Vita-Mart, Randall House, Rim Country Jams, Miss Fitz 260 Cafe, Creekside Restaurant, and Landmark at The Creek.
This was Landmark at The Creek’s first time participating in the event and Cindi and Samone Werlinger served chicken pot pie, roast beef sliders with bread and butter pickles that I heard were “to die for”. For dessert they served mini-cupcakes, and cake pops. Rhea, Debbie, and Donna from the Creekside Restaurant served what I heard were “melt in your mouth” ribs, salad, and dessert cobblers.
I want to give big congratulations to the Landmark at the Creek winning 2nd place and the Creekside Restaurant winning 3rd place. The residents of Christopher Creek are very proud that our local restaurants were two of the top three winners.
On another note, Linda at Christopher Kohl’s Fire District wanted to let everyone know that budget workshop meetings will take place March 15th and March 21st at 6 p.m. The meetings will be held at Station 51. If you would like to attend the workshops please call Linda at (928) 478-4011.
As always, I do need your help with content and stories! For anyone wanting to submit information from the Christopher Creek area for inclusion in our weekly article, please email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Any submitted pictures must be full-size (typically around 1MB per picture). The cutoff time for inclusion in Friday’s article is close of business on Monday.
Thanks again for reading the column – Jason
