United Blood Services and the Arizona Diamondbacks have partnered to hit a home run for Arizona hospital patients. All March blood donors will have a chance to win one of 25 pairs of party suite tickets to the April 21 game when the team takes on the Atlanta Braves, courtesy of the D-backs. All blood types are needed, however, Type O-negative is always in greatest demand.

The Payson blood drive is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, March 19 at Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane.

United Blood Services has been Arizona’s non-profit community blood provider since 1943 and serves patients in more than 50 Arizona hospitals.

Entering their 15th season in 2012, the Arizona Diamondbacks have won five National League West Division Championships (1999, 2001-02, 2007 & 2011) since entering Major League Baseball as an expansion franchise in 1998.

The D-backs also became the fastest expansion team to win a World Championship after defeating the New York Yankees in the 2001 World Series in only their fourth year of existence. The organization and its Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation has donated $30 million to non-profit organizations in Arizona since 1997.
