Loss Of P.A.C. Not Progress

Its a sad state of affairs when a big box (in this case Big Lots) store can come into town, flash some money around and push a local business out of their building and livelihood.

All for what I ask you? Do you think people are going to be able to buy from them in this already hard economy?

Good luck carrying that couch you just bought on discount out to your car without having worked out at the gym that just closed!

The impact Big Lots has already had on the local economy is enormous — and not in a good way. Payson Athletic Club was a great place to work out, with its fun atmosphere and friendly staff that were always willing to help out. We are losing a great asset of the Rim Country as a place that has always been dedicated to the health and wellness of its 1,000-plus members. Very sad indeed.

I will miss you P.A.C. and as a soon-to-be former nine-year member, I wish you well, and say thanks for all that you have done for me and the rest of your members through your 18 years of service in Payson. You will be truly missed.
