Payson Fly Casters Club

The Payson Fly Casters Club will meet Saturday, March 31 at Tiny’s Restaurant, 600 E. Highway 260. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and the meeting starts at 9 a.m.

The speaker will be Ed Lawrence from Bozeman, Mont. He will present a slide show and give a talk on fishing several of the wonderful rivers in Montana including the Madison and the Yellowstone. All interested fishermen and women are invited to attend.

Tai Chi and Qigong

Tai Chi and Qigong classes are offered at 9 a.m. Saturdays at the Rim Country Health and Retirement Community, 807 W. Longhorn Road.

The program is especially designed for seniors 50 or older, but is beneficial for all ages. There is no charge, but donations are accepted.

Unity of Payson

The Rev. Konrad Kaserer joins Unity of Payson on Palm Sunday, April 1 to discuss “Our spiritual path through Jerusalem.” The members of the congregation invite residents and visitors to the Rim Country to join them as they learn how to apply the ancient teachings in daily lives

The Sunday service is at 10 a.m. at Central AZ Board of Realtors, 600 E. Highway 260, Suite #14, across the parking lot from Tiny’s Restaurant.

Faith Center West Family Church Payson

This group has no dues, and no elections.

The “Tuesday Morning Breakfast Bunch” meets at Tiny’s Restaurant every week at 9 a.m. to visit and plan future activities. On the schedule:

Monday Morning Bowling — 10 a.m., first and third Mondays of the month. Discount coupon available.

Wednesday, April 4 — 0utdoor Easter Pageant in Mesa. All Aboard America Bus will provide transportation. There is no charge. Call Nadine to reserve a seat.

Overeaters Anonymous

Overeaters Anonymous meets from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays at the Rim Country Health & Retirement Community, 807 W. Longhorn Road, Payson. (After turning in driveway, turn right at first driveway. OA meets in the Community Room in the center of the facility’s apartment complex.)

Buddhist Meditation and Study Group

Westerners have been attracted to Buddhism in part because of its practical aspects. The basic teachings of Buddhist philosophy are simple and applicable in daily life. It is a guide to transforming human suffering into wisdom, inner peace and enlightenment through understanding the nature of self and reality, and through compassion. Buddhists believe that we are each responsible for our own morality by the choices that we make.

Do you have a loved one or friend with a drinking problem? Do you feel as if you need some support living with the alcoholic in your life? Then please join us for an Alanon meeting. There is help.

High Country Garden Club

Please join High Country Garden Club at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 5, at First Southern Baptist Church, 302 S. Ash St., Payson (on W. Bonita St.) for a program on herbs. Leilah Breitner of Herb Stop will discuss herb gardens, growing herbs in containers and the many health benefits derived from herb use.

A tuber from the Jerusalem artichoke will be a handout for all attendees, along with growing instructions. All are welcome and refreshments are served. For information, call Dan at (928) 472-7396.

National Red Hat Day celebration

National Red Hat Day is April 25 and to celebrate the occasion, the Payson area Red Hat chapters are planning a brunch at Chaparral Pines. The event will include an outstanding omelet station with all of the works. The area Red Hatters welcome all ladies in the area to attend; no Red Hat membership is required.
