Down 7-0 in the bottom of seventh inning and a dream season about to end, far too soon, the Lady Horns put on one of the most dramatic rallies ever seen in high school softball, to whip Mingus 8-7 in eight innings.

The come from behind effort began in the Lady Horns final at bats in regulation and yielded seven runs, on four walks, Taylor Petersen's grand slam home run, a triple by Natalie Black and a Mingus error.

With the barnburner tied 7-7, in the top of the eighth Lady Horn hurler Arianna Paulson-who had earlier given up two home runs, set the Marauders down in order.

Bouyed by a new found confidence, the Lady Horns continued the amazing rally, scoring the winning run in the bottom of the eighth to salvage the come from behind win, that sends the team into the state semi-finals, next Friday, 5:30 p.m., May 11th, against a Bourgade Catholic team that advanced with a win over Benson.

On Friday night also at Rose Mofford, PHS fell behind Fountain Hills, 1-0 early, but then roared back for a 7-1 victory.

Check Tuesday's, May 8, paper for complete results.
