Sometimes the numbers on the scoreboard aren’t a true reflection of what happened on the football field. Last night’s game against the Snowflake Lobos was an example of that.
In the first quarter the Longhorns had a progressive drive going and looked like a score was in the offing. However, a fumble recovered by the Lobos put an end to their threat.
At the end of the first half of play the score was 15-8 in favor of Snowflake.
The ‘Horns had some big plays in the second half but were unable to capitalize on them as the Lobo defense stiffened and halted all the ‘Horns scoring attempts.
The Snowflake coaches mentioned after the game the Longhorns were a much tougher team and harder to beat then they were expecting. Their team effort and high spirits kept them in the game despite the score.
Head Coach Jake Swartwood commented that the he was proud of the team, their team spirit and that they played their best game of the year.
