Now that the elections are over, it is time to focus on the blessings we have. Living in the best country in the world, and in Payson, the best place in Arizona, is truly a blessing. Thanksgiving, and then Christmas, provides us all with a special time to pause and be thankful for what we have. It also is a great time to want to share our blessings with those who may be less fortunate. The mission of Habitat for Humanity is to build and repair homes for the less fortunate and all our volunteers are passionate about this mission.
As with many of the local charities in Payson, money is needed to continue fulfilling this mission. Payson Area Habitat for Humanity (PAHH), however, is uniquely qualified as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, which offers a charitable tax credit for donations, up to $400 for a couple and $200 for individuals. This becomes a no-brainer for anyone who pays Arizona state taxes. In other words, this dollar for dollar credit allows you to keep your tax dollars right here in Payson, versus giving them to the state.
PAHH is currently looking for qualified families to occupy some existing homes and for volunteers to help at the ReStore and with ongoing repair projects (our Brush with Kindness program). We also own three lots in Payson that are ready for building new homes as soon as enough money is raised.
To learn more about qualifying for a home, sponsoring a new home, assistance with home repair projects, volunteer opportunities or donations, please call the PAHH office at (928) 474-0330. Thank you.
