The best of Payson were honored Tuesday during the annual Rim Country Business Awards.

In the non-profit category, the Payson Senior Center took top honor. The Pine-Strawberry Fuel Reduction, Inc. and Tonto Rim Search and Rescue, Inc. were also nominated for the award.

In the small business category, Messenger Payson Funeral Home took home the title, beating out Mattress Experts and Payson Farmers Market.

For large business, Home Depot was honored. Chapman Auto Center and Hospice Compassus were also nominated for the award.

In the individual awards, Cindy Gregory, co-owner of Mattress Experts, was honored as the Jim Young Businessperson of the Year.

The Pat Willis Award for Business Excellence was given to Stephanie Creasy, general manager of the Best Western.

The 2012 Community Service Award went to John Wakelin and the Lifetime Achievement Award went to Buzz Walker.
