Many Made Paws Chili Supper Super

PAWS (Payson Area Woofers Society) would like to thank the Elks for the use of their facility for the very successful 16th Annual Chili Supper.

All the food was exceptional this year. This year’s chili was made by Mazatzal Casino, the cheese was donated by El Rancho Mexican Restaurant, the salad came from Tiny’s Family Restaurant and the salad dressing was donated by Fargo’s Steak House. The rolls were fresh baked by Gerardo’s Firewood Café and PAWS homemade mac-n-cheese was made by our PAWS chef.

PAWS would also like to thank all the Barkery Bakery volunteers that made an array of scrumptious homemade desserts. Major credit goes to all the volunteers that worked tirelessly to organize the event and to set up, serve and clean up after the event.

Star Valley Veterinary Clinic donated a gift certificate for $250 as one of the silent auction prizes and PETCO donated a fantastic doggie basket with lots of treats for a very lucky Payson pooch! The PAWS 2012 “All about PAWS” Raffle Basket and the PAWS “Rescue Mom Spa Basket” were given away at the event. One of the participants also won $208 from the 50/50 raffle and generously donated their winnings back to the PAWS general fund.

We enjoyed music from Trouble in Paradise as they entertained the volunteers and the participants at this year’s event.

Other contributors to the event were Dudley’s Mini Storage, HSCAZ Thrift Store, KMOG Radio, KRIM Radio, Loot Resale, Payson Public Library, Payson Roundup/Rim Review, PostNet, Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce, Rim Country Gazette, Sawmill Theatre,s Walmart and Western Village.

PAWS would also like to thank the Humane Society of Central Arizona. Not only has the HSCAZ given their blessing to PAWS to continue a Payson tradition, they graciously provided PAWS with the Chili Supper supplies they had on hand to use at this year’s event.

Proceeds from the Chili Supper will go to the Second Chance Fund, future low cost/no cost spay and neuter clinics and to help maintain the Off-Leash Dog Park at Rumsey Park to benefit pets and their people in the Rim Country
