In regards to folks riding low profile modes of transportation one would think they would do everything possible such as reflectors and flags on poles to give themselves greater visibility. Protected head gear is a reasonable thing as well.
Competing with cars, trucks and semis — all weighing 4,000 pounds and up — can be very risky.
