Fairy Tales

I sort of gave up sending in letters to the editor because it was a waste of time trying to impart knowledge to liberals. You gotta feel sorry for them. Their indoctrination is complete. I guess I’ll speak up for the truth one last time because the latest round of fairy tales are laughable. For those who seem to be in La La Land wake up to these facts:

Obama has put us so deep in debt I doubt we will ever climb out.

Obama, with his executive privilege, has helped the Justice Department under Eric Holder to cover up a gun-running scheme called Fast and Furious that has killed untold numbers of innocent victims in Mexico and at least one U.S. border agent. Wouldn’t our “honest” leader want to see justice done? Not if he was in on it and wanted to discredit our Second Amendment rights.

Obama has jeopardized our freedoms by imposing mandatory health insurance laws on everyone, and if an American doesn’t want it, too bad. They will be fined.

Obama has attacked our precious religious freedom by imposing a law that says Christians have to violate their consciences and buy insurance that mandatorily allows the procurement of abortions, abortion-inducing drugs, and dangerous contraceptives.

If well-meaning Americans refuse this insurance, they are taxed and the money is given to the same abortion-performing and abortion drug lords like Planned Parenthood. Don’t forget the fact that our “benevolent” boss is forcing private American insurance companies to sell the stuff whether they want to or not.

Obama and his cohorts keep trying to take God out of every aspect of our country’s God-given heritage by systematically removing all references to the role Christianity played in the founding and successful running of this country for 200+ years.

Obama has no clue what constitutes a terrorist. He keeps insisting these poor misguided victims of our mean democracy would be great friends it we would only give them everything they want with no consequences.

There are countless more examples of rampant mismanagement by the fanatic liberal in the White House. All I can say is, if he and his henchmen are voted in again, this great country of ours with its great freedoms will disappear under a nanny government that controls every aspect of our lives. Liberals will laugh at these facts and try to make decent, loyal Americans, who are sounding the clarion call of danger, look foolish. I got news for you. The joke is going to be on them.

Can someone please explain to me how on Earth the Payson Roundup justifies printing such nonsense? What a waste of paper!

John Naughton 4 years, 3 months ago

Because, just like you, the author has the right to submit a letter to the editor and voice an opinion.

Thank You John Naughton. Your even handed editing has made me a proud reader of the Roundup!

Yes, the author has that right. But this isn't just "opinion" in my opinion. It isn't "facts." That is my issue with the letter. The Arizona Republic and many other papers prints letters containing untruths as well. I find it disturbing, however, regardless of the topic. As a journalism major way back when, I realize news and media now isn't quite what it should or could be - Emphasisin my opinion! For example... 1) President Obama hasn't imposed mandatory insurance requirements on everyone - just those who can afford it and won't buy it. Whether this healthcare package stands or is repealed, we'll all be paying for others' irresponsibility regardless, just as we are now.
2) Abortion is a legal medical procedure. Perhaps government or health insurers should fund sterilization when voluntarily requested, or all forms of birth control. There would fewer people in the world who would go without. Think of how much money taxpayers would save. Those who aren't fit to have, or do not want, children will be much better off as well.
3) "Liberals" make darn good "decent loyal Americans" too. : ) 4) President Obama is a Christian. Why would he remove references to God?!

I don't know you, Tim or Fred. I have read your postings, so I imagine you will really give it to me now.

p.s. Sorry to disappoint, but am not a "liberal" - I vote candidates from all parties.

I could care less what your political persuasion may be. You asked a pointed question and I answered. If you were, in fact, a journalism major sometime in the past, I would have hoped a professor at sometime explained the 1st amendment to the constitution. While I may not agree with all of Mr. Branson's opinions, or yours for that matter, I will stand up for your right to say it.

Ms. Volz, could you explain how Mr. Branson’s post might be considered a lie? I see nothing in which he’s lied. Presume for a moment, his expression of opinion is more. Even then, can you prove any one thing, or multiples of them to constitute a lie?

IMHO, all he said is true, except the last sentence, for the future holds the evidence of truth of what, for now, is just wishful thinking. That is my opinion, of course, for which I’m thankful to Mr. Naughton for the opportunity to express.

Perhaps you should go see the movie 2016. Then, maybe even you could be a bit more reserved in your expressions of ‘opinion’.

In your first point in your response above, you say he hasn’t imposed requirements on “everyone”. Meaning you approve of his being able to impose them on a few ‘select’ people. Who does the selecting? At what point will that selection become noxious to you? Are you blind to the notion that it is congress that should ‘impose’? Sure, it needs his signature, but we are seeing him ‘impose’ by executive order, granting immunity to his friends. Muslims, for example, are excluded, but Christians are not. Not only that, but they are in the cross hairs of some of the most blatant examples of his ‘impositions’.

Your second point, abortion is far greater than a medical procedure. It is the ending of a life. Hussein led the charge in the Illinois legislature to withdraw life support for babies born in spite of a partial birth abortion. For your edification, partial birth abortion is where the doctor pushes a rod through the brain of a new born before the baby’s body is fully exposed. Hussein also led the charge to legalize that in Illinois. There is ample evidence of that, if you’d like to pursue that line.

Your third point about liberals making good citizens, makes me remember Jane Fonda sitting on an anti-aircraft gun in Hanoi; while prisoners wasted away in the Hanoi Hilton where John McCain spent time, a few blocks away.

Many liberals claim to be Christian, but does that make them so? Jesus said “ Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.” IMHO, we have a false prophet in the White House, who under that suave exterior behaves like a ravening wolf. The fruits of his efforts have twisted this nation to the point of breaking; by economic and moral demise or insurrection more damaging than that of 150 years ago. Let us exercise the few freedoms we have left, for a day may be coming when freedom can only exist under the pines up on the rim, where our gov’t would find it expedient to simply ignore the few of us left.
Have you ever watched Red Dawn? The writer of that story said it wasn’t really about the Russians invading, but fighting our own gov’t.

Anyone who would think these issues are nonsense and don't deserve to be printed has to be not only uninformed but completely brainwashed. These self same issues have been continuously ongoing in the news and media. Congress has held Eric Holder in contempt for his actions in Fast and Furious and the President has helped keep vital information out of Congress' hands. Where has Volz and Paulk been all this time? If Obama isn't jeopardizing religious freedom then why are so many Churches and religious organizations, the Catholic Church foremost, filing lawsuits to stop the violation of their consciences? Just because abortion is a legal procedure, does that make it right? A human being's life is snuffed out. Don't those of us who still have consciences have the right to oppose such an atrocity? Not according to Obama and his henchmen/women. If Obama is a Christian why does he oppose biblical principles and commandments at every turn (For example: the killing of babies, homosexual "marriage")? Things completely against what the Bible says. Sorry to disappoint you, Volz, but you are a liberal in the truest sense of the word. Stop deluding yourself.
