Mingus Mauraders Took No Prisoners

The Payson Longhorns played the state third ranked Mingus Marauders (6-1) on even terms for one quarter but minutes later the wheels came off the PHS wagon as the Marauders coasted to a 54-0 triumph.

The game was played Oct. 5 in Mingus.

Trailing just 7-0 at the end of the first stanza, the Horns appeared capable of staying with Mingus, but in the second quarter, the Marauders racked up 20 points to pull away from the Horns. Mingus tacked on seven more points in the third quarter and 20 in the third to breeze to the win.

Trevor Henderson paved the way to the Mingus win rushing for 128 yards and scoring three TDs.

With the loss Payson falls to 4-3.
