Solar Trust of America — $2.1 billion; 125 employees lost jobs*

Bright Source — $2.4 billion, plus $56 million to relocate tortoises. In Chapter 11 — 400 employees

Solyndra — $500 million — laid off 1,100 — failure to make a solar product that works*

LSP Energy — $2.1 billion — jobs lost ?*

Amonix Solar — $20 million — 200 jobs*

Energy Conversion Devices — $13.3 million in stimulus tax — 140 jobs*

Abound Solar — $400 million — 125 jobs*

SunPower — $1.2 billion — 124 jobs*

Beacon Power — $43 million — 127 jobs*



Azure Dynamics — $120 million — 120 jobs*

UniSolar — $100 million — 900/1,500 jobs (while failing, but still open, received more tax money)*

Evergreen Solar — $527 million — 800 jobs*

Ener1 — $100 million — 760 jobs lost*
