Celebrate Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month With Us

October is my favorite month! The weather is lovely, fall decorations are going up throughout the town and it’s my birthday month.

There are lots of exciting things happening this month as well. The Humane Society of Central Arizona is getting ready to celebrate our Grand Opening. There is a low-cost rabies clinic coming up, and it’s Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month!

In honor of Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog month, there are many ways you can help. First and foremost, you can adopt! HSCAZ has an adoption special going on all month. Adoption fees are $10-$45. How exciting to pull an amazing adoption fee from our pumpkin, and get a piece of candy too. If you can’t adopt, or just aren’t ready to, there are many other ways you can show your support during Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog month.

Donate your Facebook status, by posting “October is Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month. Save a life: Adopt a dog! www.petfinder .com

Twitter. Use your twitter account to tweet about saving a life and adopting.

Use both Facebook and Twitter to share pics of adoptable animals in your area.

Contact your local shelter or rescue group about becoming a volunteer or a foster parent. HSCAZ is always looking for foster parents and volunteers. Encourage your friends and family to join as well.

Donate. HSCAZ and every other shelter or rescue group is always in need and grateful for any and all donations. You can contact us if you would like to make a specific donation, stop by and see us at 605 W. Wilson Court or mail you check to HSCAZ, P.O. Box 242, Payson, AZ 85547.

Spread the word. Explain to your friends and family the importance of spaying/neutering and adopting or rescuing, not buying or breeding.

Now that you are aware of a few ways you can help support Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog month, let’s make it happen!
