Hello again, fellow Creekers.
First off I want to apologize to Ms. Terry Glad Flores. Last week’s article was about Terry Glad Flores being invited to the Native American Arts and International Film Festival, in Las Vegas this November. We accidentally printed “he” in the article instead of “she.”
Spell check was unfortunately no help this time. I’m sorry Ms. Flores and I’m looking forward to hearing all about the red carpet soon.
I turned the big 4-0 this week and I’m sure being over the hill had something to do with that oversight!
Speaking of the big 4-0, if anybody would like to share their “turning 40 stories” from the past I’d love to hear them. Please feel free to e-mail me any content or stories!
‘Cruise’ into fall at Christopher Creek
Remember the Christopher Creek Classic Car Show returns Oct. 20 starting at 1 p.m. at the Christopher-Kohl’s Fire Department, located at 930 E. Christopher Creek Loop. In previous years this event was really well attended by exhibitors, attendees and all kinds of car fanatics (and people who just love out great fall weather).
This year’s car show will include hot dog lunches for $1.50. There will also be a bake and book sale, along with raffles, classic cars and fire trucks.
Lastly, there will even be a spaghetti dinner for only $5.
This is a kid-friendly event. Bring the family and come on out and see the fall leaves turning. Eat, drink, relax, have some fun in the cool, clean pines. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite car.
The event is sponsored by Christopher-Kohl’s Fire District. For more information, contact Linda at the Christopher-Kohl’s Fire Department, (928) 478-4011.
For anyone wanting to submit information from the Christopher Creek or Tonto Creek area for inclusion in our weekly article, please e-mail me at: info@christophercreek lodge.com.
Thanks again for reading the column.
