The 16th Annual Chili Supper will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the Payson Elks Lodge. This popular event is presented by PAWS in the Park for the benefit of Rim Country animals.
Making generous donations for the event are Mazatzal Casino’s Cedar Ridge Restaurant, which is preparing the chili that will be garnished with cheese from El Rancho. Fresh rolls baked by Gerardo’s Firewood Café with salad from Tiny’s Family Restaurant and gourmet dressings from Fargo’s Steakhouse will complement the main course. Side dishes include PAWS homemade macaroni and cheese and desserts from the Barkery Bakery volunteers.
The food is the main feature, but there will be live entertainment by the popular duo Trouble in Paradise; a Silent Auction; a 50-50 Raffle; and U-Pic Raffles with great prizes – the winning ticket holder gets to choose the prize they want. Tickets are just $1 or six for $5.
The Barkery Bakery will be selling PAWS items and the excellent Humane Society Cookbook is once again available, so be thinking about Christmas gifts as you enjoy the great food at the benefit.
The funs raised will be used for affordable spay and neuter clinics for Rim country pets and to maintain a “second chance” medical fund for the humane Society shelter’s use.
PAWS is currently looking for more raffle items to include, contact Julie Coleman at (928) 951-4884 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to make a donation. Contributions are tax deductible.
Tickets for the Chili Supper are $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Advance tickets are available at the Payson Public Library, 328 McLane, Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce, 100 W. Main, and at the Humane Society Thrift Store, east of the Payson Senior Center on West Main St. Tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the event.
