Lowe Working As Interim Physician For Veterans

Dr. Michael Lowe is now serving as the interim primary care provider at the Payson Veterans Affairs Health Care Clinic.

Dr. Mark Ivey left the position on Oct. 1 after eight years.

Veterans will now need to go to Dr. Lowe’s office at the Peak Medical Clinic, located at 903 E. Highway 260.

Although VA officials sent out a notice to veterans saying Lowe was the new doctor, they said by phone he is serving as the interim provider while they look for a permanent replacement.

The Phoenix VA Health Care System and Health Net Federal Services selected Lowe to serve as the primary care provider along with nurse practitioner Deborah Nichols.

Ivey had served in the role since 2004 until his contract recently ran out, according to his office staff.

Dr. Ivey did not return a call for comment and Dr. Lowe refused to comment.

I was hoping that doctor Lowe would be staying on as permanent for the VA. I had doctor Lowe for primary care back a few years ago. I feel he is an excellent doctor!
