Animal lovers will host the 16th Annual Chili Supper from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the Payson Elks Lodge.

PAWS in the Park hopes to raise money to help Rim Country animals, starting with donations already made by Mazatzal Casino’s Cedar Ridge Restaurant, which is preparing the chili that will be garnished with cheese from El Rancho. Fresh rolls baked by Gerardo’s Firewood Café, salad from Tiny’s Family Restaurant and gourmet dressings from Fargo’s Steakhouse will complement the main course. Side dishes include PAWS homemade macaroni and cheese and desserts from the Barkery Bakery volunteers.

The event will also feature live entertainment by the popular duo Trouble in Paradise; a Silent Auction; a 50-50 Raffle; and U-Pic Raffles with great prizes — the winning ticket holder gets to choose the prize they want. Tickets are just $1 or six for $5.

The Barkery Bakery will sell PAWS items and the Humane Society Cookbook will also be available, so be thinking about Christmas gifts as you enjoy the great food at the benefit.

The money raised will fund affordable spay and neuter clinics for Rim Country pets and a “second chance” medical fund for the Humane Society shelter’s use.

PAWS is currently looking for more raffle items to include, contact Julie Coleman at (928) 951-4884 or e-mail pawsnpayson@ gmail.com to make a donation. Contributions are tax deductible.

Tickets for the Chili Supper are $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Advance tickets are available at the Payson Public Library, 328 McLane; Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce, 100 W. Main; and at the Humane Society Thrift Store, east of the Payson Senior Center on West Main Street. Tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the event.
