Moose Lodge events

The Loyal Order of the Moose meetings are at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. The Women of the Moose meet at 6 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month at the lodge.

The lodge has a Thursday Fish Fry from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and weekly dinner specials are available.

Masonic Lodge

The Sy Harrison Masonic Lodge #70, located at 200 E. Rancho Road in Payson, meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. A dinner is held at 5:30 p.m. every second Tuesday for members, families and guests with an after-dinner program followed by the lodge’s Stated Meeting at 7 p.m.

Unity of Payson class

A Unity Foundations class will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, 30 and Nov. 6 at the Board of Realtors Conference Room, across the parking lot from Tiny’s Family Restaurant, 600 E. A Course in Miracles Study Group

A Course in Miracles Study Group meets from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursdays. Participation is by donation.

NARFE meeting

The Mogollon Chapter 1235 of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees will hold its monthly no-host luncheon and meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24. The meeting will be held at Tiny’s Restaurant, 600 E. Highway 260.

Councilman John Wilson will be on hand to discuss the various propositions that appear on the Nov. 6 ballot.

All active and retired federal employees are invited to attend. Please bring on nonperishable food item for the Payson food banks.

Senior Circle news

The Senior Circle will host a Lunch and Learn program on Medicare Enrollment Wednesday, Oct. 24. Tom Russell will explain the ins and outs of Medicare, Medicare supplements, Medicare Advantage and Part D Rx. There are two educational (no sales) sessions scheduled — the first is at 10:30 a.m. and the second is at 2 p.m. Snacks will be served at both.

October is open enrollment for Tonto Apache Gym memberships.  Senior Circle members can save half off the price of membership.  

The Senior Circle is now taking reservations for a Dec. 5 trip to Barleens Arizona Opry. The cost includes round-trip transportation from Payson, show tickets, lunch and all gratuities and taxes.

Special Healing Service

Shepherd of The Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane, will have a special service of Wholeness and Healing at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24. Physical, spiritual and emotional wellbeing will be the focus of the service. Rim Country residents and visitors are invited to attend.
