Longhorn Miguel Mendoza (#20) follows his blockers and makes a twenty yard gain out of a play that looked like a loss.

The Payson Longhorns wrapped up the 2012 regular season Friday with a 24-14 win over the Globe Tigers on Senior Night in Payson High Stadium.

With the win the Horns take a 6-4 record into the Division IV state tournament when it kicks off next week with eight games at the home site of the highest seed.

Sam Boatman catches a short pass and runs for a another fifteen yards before getting tackled by Globe Tigers.

Payson players will not know who they will be playing until the final power rankings are released on Monday. Oct. 29. Currently Payson is ranked 13th in power points and if the playoff were to begin today, the Longhorns would travel to Snowflake for a first round game. That is not definite, however, because the rankings could change when all scores from last evening, Friday, are reported.

See the Oct. 30 edition for game details and state seeding results.
