The Saving Graces of Payson — a Canasta card-playing group — is looking for a few ladies who enjoy fun, laughter and friendship.

Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group

The Desert Southwest Chapter cordially invites caregivers, families, service providers and members of the community to attend the Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Group meeting at Payson Senior Center, 514 W. Main St., from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of each month.

The key is to walk away with skills to support caregivers of a loved one diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

Unity of Payson Foundations Class

Unity of Payson is offering the first session of a four-week class based on the Unity classic Lessons in Truth at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6. Whether or not you have been attending Unity of Payson, this is a great way to further your spiritual development and become familiar with Unity. High Country Garden Club

High Country Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6 at First Southern Baptist Church.

The September program will feature Bill Roehr, who will cover different aspects of weed control, including early prevention and non-toxic methods of treating pesky weeds. In addition, Gary Karlowski will discuss the benefits of using alfalfa tea and Epsom salts to enhance garden growth and vegetable production.

American Legion Riders to meet Saturday

The Payson American Legion Riders next meeting is Saturday, Sept. 8 at Tiny’s Restaurant, 600 E. Highway 260.

Breakfast is at 9:15 a.m. with a business meeting at 10 a.m. Since this is our first meeting after the summer break, all members are encouraged to attend. Topics to be discussed will be the results of our recent fund-raising efforts to benefit Payson Supply Line. We will begin planning for our autumn activities toward this effort.
