Beeline Paving Project To Slow Traffic Near Sunflower

The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin a $2.7 million project this week to repave a seven-mile segment of State Route 87 approximately 30 miles south of Payson near Sunflower (mileposts 218-225). The work will continue through the end of September and include removal of a layer of the existing pavement, repaving the roadway, and drainage improvements.

Work hours will be 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Drivers can expect alternating lane restrictions in both directions with minimal delays through the work zone. Vehicles will be limited to a maximum width of 14 feet.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
