Approximately 50 percent of our Arizona population is female. We elected a female governor and we have females in numerous positions of power and influence at our state Capitol. Therefore, it seems ironic and strange as to why we have no females in our United States congressional delegation. Both of our United States Senators and all or our representatives in Congress from Arizona are male. This does not bode well as being truly representative of our overall population.
Congressional candidates Ann Kirkpatrick and Krysten Sinema should be given serious consideration by Arizona voters to represent us in Washington, D.C. in January 2013. Not only would they bring a female perspective to our nation’s Capitol, but their intelligence and compassion would be a welcome change from the current male dysfunctional political group from Arizona that we send to represent us on the Potomac.
It’s too bad the Arizona GOP isn’t offering up any female candidates for national office. We could certainly use a healthy dose of brains and common sense from our representatives in Congress, be they Democrats or Republicans.
