Gracie Lee Haught golf event
Can you channel the great golfers of the past? If so, and they help you finesse that shot into a hole-in-one, you could leave the June 1 Gracie Lee Haught Sixth Annual Golf Tournament $10,000 richer.
Play better than the rest of the anticipated field of 28 foursomes and you and your teammates could pocket the $400 first place prize. Second is $200 and third is $100. Or just have one of the hot raffle tickets and you can still take home a great prize.
The tournament is at the Payson Golf Course, 1504 W. Country Club Dr. (928) 474-2273.
The entry is $65 per person or $260 per team, which will include 18 holes of golf (cart included) and lunch.
The format is four-person scramble best ball. Mulligans can be purchased for $10 each the day of the tournament. Check-in is at 7 a.m., with tee off at 8 a.m.
Businesses, clubs, organizations and individuals can sponsor a hole for $200.
All proceeds from this golf tournament benefit the Gracie Lee Haught (GLH) Children’s Memorial Fund. GLH raises money to assist families in times
of medical crisis, sponsors a medical training facility that educates and trains nurses and medical students, sponsors a “Safety First” program for children K-2, and hands out free car seats and bike helmets to families in financial need.
GLH Children’s Memorial Fund is a non-profit fund and all sponsorships or donations are tax deductible.
4th Annual Charity Golf Event
Payson Area Habitat for Humanity (PAHH) is conducting its Fourth Annual Charity Golf Event at Chaparral Pines Golf Club in Payson Sunday, June 2.
Register now to participate and help make it possible for deserving local families to have a home or gain assistance in critical home repairs. The last three years’ events were a huge success and all who participated had great fun. This year’s format is a two-person scramble, with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
The 2013 entry fee includes green fees, range balls, a box lunch ... and the opportunity to win a $50,000 Hole-in-One prize. Players can participate in various par three contests, and there will be awards for tournament winners.
Following golf, there will be appetizers and a no-host bar, and silent auction results will be announced.
The silent auction is a big part of the day’s events. Last year, more than 100 items were displayed.
Non-golfers are invited to join in the fun of bidding on auction items beginning at noon at the Chaparral Pines clubhouse.
You can sponsor a local firefighter, peace officer or teacher to golf in your place through PAHH’s “Hero Sponsorships.” Please contact the PAHH office for details at (928) 474-0330.
Registration forms can be found on the PAHH Web site: www.paysonhabitat.com/events.htm, or at the PAHH ReStore, located at the corner of Routes 87 and 260, (928) 474-0330.
The entry fee is $150 per person ($125 for Chaparral Pines members). All registrations received prior to April 30 will receive a 10 percent discount.
