Classic Cars Cruising Into Payson

Welcome to the 20th Annual Rim Country Classic Auto Club’s Beeline Cruise-In, which on April 26 and 27 will lure cruising car lovers to Green Valley Park from all over the region.

The Friday-Saturday event starts with a 4:30 p.m. Friday classic car cruise from Green Valley Park, up to Airport Road, down to Tyler Parkway, on to Main Street and finally back Green Valley Park.

The big show’s dazzling antique, vintage and classic autos will decorate Payson’s jewel-like park from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, complete with food and merchandise vendors, a parts swap meet, a special area for kids, raffle drawings and awards for participants.

The parts swap meet and kids area are two new features at the show. The swap meet is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 27 in the east parking lot of the Payson First Assembly of God Church, 1100 W. Lake Drive, neighboring Green Valley Park on the west.

In the kids area from 10 a.m. to noon in the ramada north of the playground, youngsters can color pictures of vintage autos. Throughout the day, organizers will sell raffled tickets for a prize drawing from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Organizers will present awards from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Major sponsors this year include Payson, Edward Jones, Payson Jewelers, Chaparral Pines and The Rim Club, the Payson Roundup, Chapman Auto Center and Vic Edelbrock, with dozens of other businesses also participating.

Past RCCAC Beeline Cruise-In Car Shows have attracted more than a thousand visitors.

Seen some wonderful old vehicles in town the last few days, now I know why. Thanks Roundup for doing a story on this.
