Flycasters Club

The Payson Flycasters Club will meet Saturday, April 27 at Tiny’s Restaurant, 600 E. Highway 260. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and the meeting starts at 9 a.m.

The guest speaker this month is Mike Lopez from the U.S. Forest Service, who will be discussing the progress being made in forest restoration after the Wallow Fire of 2011.

All those interested in the outdoors, fishing and camping are invited to attend.

Unity of Payson

Rev. Suzanne Bishop will lead the Unity of Payson Sunday service at 10 a.m., April 28. Her talk is on affirmative prayer, A Transformative Power.

Evangelist at Crossroads

Crossroads Church is hosting healing evangelist Paul Rapley at 6 p.m., Sunday, April 28. Healed of cancer, Rapley is a missionary who travels the world bringing the good news and transformation. He has ministered in more than 200 healing services where the Lord has healed more than 6,000 conditions.

Payson Elks

Elks members and guests are welcome to enjoy lunch at the Lodge from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday; Friday dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday dinner from noon to 5 p.m.

Every Friday there is Karaoke from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Every Sunday there is Bingo at 1 p.m. and a Pool Tournament at 4:30 p.m. with Happy Hour from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Republicans host chair Latino Value Super Pac

The Rim Country Republican Club meets Monday, April 29 at Tiny’s Restaurant, 600 E. Highway 260. Members and guests may gather at 11 a.m. to order lunch and to socialize. Beginning at 11:30 a.m., Luis Acle will speak. His topic will be Understanding the Latino Voters in Arizona and Designing Effective Strategies to Increase Republican Support.

Buddhist Meditation and Study Group

The Payson Buddhist Meditation and Study group meets from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday evenings at the Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness, 107 W. Wade Lane. Call (928) 595-1378 for additional information.

Masonic Lodge

The Sy Harrison Masonic Lodge #70, located at 200 E. Rancho Road in Payson, meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. A dinner is held at 5:30 p.m. every second Tuesday for members, families and guests with an after-dinner program followed by the lodge’s Stated Meeting at 7 p.m.

Overeaters Anonymous

Overeaters Anonymous meets from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays at the Rim Country Health and Retirement Community Room, 807 W. Longhorn Road (after turning in the main driveway, turn right at the first driveway. The Community Room is in the center of the apartment complex).

There are no fees or dues. The only membership requirement is a desire to not compulsively overeat anymore.

Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group

The Payson Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group invites caregivers, families, service providers and members of the community to attend the support group meeting at Payson Senior Center, 514 W. Card players wanted

The Saving Graces of Payson — a Canasta card-playing group — is looking for a few ladies who enjoy fun, laughter and friendship.

This Red Hat group meets at 10 a.m. the first Wednesday of every month at the Crosswinds Restaurant patio room. There is a break for lunch around noon and play and resumes after lunch. Anyone interested in joining will be welcomed. You do not need to know how to play, the members will be happy to teach the game.

Lost Loves

Lost Loves, a support group for adults who have lost a loved one through suicide, meets on the first Thursday of each month at the Senior Circle, 215 N. Beeline Highway, Payson. Adults suffering from such a loss are welcome to attend the group sessions which are free of charge. The group is facilitated by a professional counselor an da survivor of suicide loss.

High Country Garden Club

The High Country Garden Club meets at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 2 in the community hall of the First Southern Baptist Church located at the corner of South Colcord and West Bonita Streets

The program will be a “hands-on” craft project presented by Brenda Hamric of the Paper and Metal Scrappers store in Payson. Those attending will be making mini-garden scrapbooks for storing garden tips, pictures, and other related information. All those interested in gardening and plants are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served after the presentation.

Rim Country Celts

Rim Country Celts, a social club, will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 9 at the home of Su Connell and Stan Garner. There will be a potluck dinner followed by the business meeting. Donations for Genealogy Society yard sale sought

Donations are being accepted by the Northern Gila County Genealogical Society for its annual yard sale. Donations can be dropped off at the Genealogy Library, 302 E. Bonita, Payson, during regular library days and hours. The Genealogy Library is open Fridays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The deadline for all yard sale donations is noon, Thursday, May 2.

Vegetarian Co-op farm and social club forming

The Rim Country Vegetarian cooperative farm and social club is for folks of all ages who come together to share potlucks, education and outings.
