Smart Move By Rappaport

The council doesn‘t want a person on the council that speaks what they believe; they want a “good ol’ boy.”

And after all he has done for Star Valley what a petty reason to state he wrote the letter on town stationery and add, “We elected a mayor, not a king.”

Could it be councilor Paty Henderson has a hidden agenda? Like being mayor?

Oh? How would you feel if someone made public statements on your stationery expressing political views with which you vehemently disagree, and supporting an unethical organization espousing those views with which you vehemently disagree, whose members seem to have a propensity for turning up on police blotters around the country for political corruption, sexual improprieties sometimes involving children, embezzlement, and other crimes? Would you take kindly to being accused of ulterior motives when you hold the culprit to account? Mayor Rappaport has indeed done a great deal for the Town of Star Valley, but he very definitely stepped over a very bright ethical line. You know what they say: One "Aw, s---!" is worth a thousand attaboys. Besides, he chose to resign. He could have stood up like a man, taken the heat, and apologized, and tried to win back a good reputation that he thoroughly trashed with this stupid move. Instead, he bailed. On the other hand, what do you call a person who owns firearms but supports an unethical organization doing their level best to make sure no one else can.?
