Mac Feezor, a native of Mesa, Ariz., is the new bishop of the Manzanita Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). He replaces Wil Dunman as bishop of a congregation of more than 300 people residing in Payson.
His new counselors include Craig Chlarson and Sam Loveless.
Bishop Feezor has ancestral roots in Arizona beginning with his great-great-grandfather, Alexander Finland McDonald, who served as mayor of Mesa. In keeping with his Scottish heritage, young “Elder” Feezor served a two-year mission to Scotland teaching the Scottish people in a number of communities, including Glasgow and Edinburgh. He gained not only proselytizing and service experience while on his mission, but also learned leadership skills when he served as the assistant to the mission president.
Professionally, Feezor successfully applied his many technical and consulting skills in working for a number of high technology companies including Scientific Atlanta, Metagraphics, Lockheed International, Mentorgraphics Consulting and Intercept Technology. His work has taken him away from Arizona to Georgia and Oregon.
He has made a home for his family in Payson for the past 14 years.
On a personal level, Feezor met his wife Christine at a church gathering — and after only three dates — asked her to marry him. They now have four children: Kathryn, Michael, Stefanie and Kimberly, who in their turn have expanded the Feezor clan with eight grandchildren, with one more on the way.
Feezor brings his special touch of humor, technical expertise, responsive service orientation, and leadership skills as he administers to and serves the needs of his congregation and the community.
