Gila County Sheriff Adam Shepherd has two problems he decided against mentioning.
Translation: Why make my job harder than it already is? Smart man.
The county attorney’s office that fails to prosecute some serious crimes by letting the suspects plead down to lesser chargers. Meaning the criminals are back on the street sooner doing more crimes.
The judges sentencing those convicted of serious crimes are lesser crimes by a plea deal giving lighter sentences than the maximum sentence. So there again, the criminals are back on the street sooner doing more crimes.
So these two things among the others he has to contend with not only makes his job harder, but very frustrating as it does to his deputies.
All this must be taken into consideration when judging the job he and his deputies are doing.
