White Fire south of Superior remains at 1,000 acres, but is not spreading 11 lightning-caused fires on Tonto National Forest over past weekend are out or in monitor and/or mop-up status

The White Fire, south of Superior, Ariz., remains at 1,000 acres today, but is not spreading; one interior smoke reported today. Fire is in monitor and mop-up status.

Of the other fire starts over last weekend, all are either being monitored and/or mopped up or are contained or controlled.

There was thunderstorm activity over the weekend which brought moisture and lightning to some of these areas. In adddition to the lightning-caused fires, there were over 20 smoke checks.
