Moose Lodge events

The Loyal Order of the Moose meetings are at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. The Women of the Moose meet at 6 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month.

The lodge has a Thursday Fish Fry from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and weekly dinner specials are available.

Masonic Lodge

Rim Country 4 Wheelers

Members of the Rim Country 4 Wheelers invite anyone interested in 4-wheeling to join them at 8 a.m. each Wednesday in the parking lot at the east end of Bashas’ by Jiffy Lube. Normally anywhere from four to a dozen or more members participate and the destination is usually determined at that time. Runs also occur once a month on a Saturday and the destination is usually predetermined at the prior month’s meeting.

Wednesday devotions at Payson Care Center

A weekly devotion will be held at Payson Care Center in the fine dining room from 8:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. every Wednesday. Each week, representatives from different area churches will direct the devotion. The devotion is open to the community, and the residents, patients and associates of Payson Care Center.

NARFE Meeting

The Mogollon Chapter 1235 of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees will hold their monthly no host luncheon Wednesday, Aug. 28, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The meeting will follow lunch. The meetings are held at Tiny’s Restaurant, 600 E. Hwy. 260.

The guest speaker this month is Don Engler, chief of the Payson Police Department. He will be talking about the crime rate in Payson and how it affects seniors. All active and retired federal employees are invited to attend. Please remember non-perishable food items for the Payson Food Bank. Also any new member will receive a free lunch.

TOPS 373 Payson (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter meets every Thursday morning the Senior Circle, 215 N. Beeline Highway, Payson. Weigh-in is from at 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. and the meeting starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 8:50 a.m.

Card players wanted

The Saving Graces of Payson — a Canasta card-playing group — is looking for a few ladies who enjoy fun, laughter and friendship.

This Red Hat group meets at 10 a.m. the first Wednesday of every month at the Crosswinds Restaurant patio room. There is a break for lunch around noon and play and resumes after lunch. Anyone interested in joining will be welcomed. You do not need to know how to play, the members will be happy to teach the game.

The Payson Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group invites caregivers, families, service providers and members of the community to attend the support group meeting at Payson Senior Center, 514 W. Rim Country Corvettes

Rim Country Corvettes is not a formal club with meetings, dues, etc. It is a group of Corvette owners from the Rim Country who enjoy driving their special cars and meeting new Corvette owners.

Lost Loves

Lost Loves, a support group for adults who have lost a loved one through suicide, meets on the first Thursday of each month at the Senior Circle, 215 N. Beeline Highway, Payson. Adults suffering from such a loss are welcome to attend the group sessions which are free of charge. The group is facilitated by a professional counselor an da survivor of suicide loss.

St. Philip adult education programs

Adult education programs are being offered at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.

Catholic Church History class starts Monday, Sept. 9. It will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Room 5. The book costs $20.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) starts Tuesday, Sept. 10. It will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. in the parish hall conference room and ends with the Easter Vigil Mass, April 19, 2014.

Coffee Club talks about investments

Learn about the market with a free cup of coffee at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Good Samaritan Society Majestic Rim, 310 E. Tyler Parkway, Payson.

Discussing current events, the economy and investing in a relaxed, informal setting is a great way to get to know each other.

The discussion will be hosted by Chris Walsh, Edward Jones financial advisor.

Cowboy Church

Rim Country Cowboy Church meets at 6 p.m. every Wednesday at Star Valley Baptist Church, 4180 E. Highway 260, Star Valley. The service includes live music by the Country Gospel Misfits.

Rim Country Celts

Members of the Rim Country Celts will hold their monthly meeting Thursday, Sept. 12.
