Still on his knees, Jared Varner #8, successfully completed his mission and added to the Longhorn score in the second quarter of Friday's evening clash between the Longhorns and Winkenburg Wranglers.

Despite the threat of a heavy downpour and a possible lightning storm, the Payson Longhorns and Wickenburg Wranglers shook hands on the fifty yard line at Payson Field, flipped a coin to decide first control of the field and proceeded to entertain the fans with an exciting contest.

The 'Horns won the coin toss and managed to score rather quickly to the surprise of just about everyone. It looked like the defensive line of the Wranglers was going to control the line of scrimmage, but the quickness of the 'Horns backfield soon proved otherwise.

Having several tall and quick defensive backs helped the Wranglers shut down the first extra point attempt. The wet field and steady light rain contributed to the blocked point after.
