MHA quilt winners
The winners of the 2013 Mogollon Health Alliance iButterfly Quilt were Damienne and Karl Glasscock of Payson. The support of those who bought tickets allows the MHA to provide many great programs and services to help the community.

Payson Area Stroke Survivors
A support group for stroke survivors and their caregivers will have an afternoon meeting the third Wednesday of the month. We will meet from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Mogollon Health Alliance Activity Room next to the Almost New Shop on East Aero Drive.

Rock of Ages Evangelical Lutheran Church will conduct an Advent Service on Wednesday, Dec. 18 with a Free Soup Supper beginning at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The Advent Service, held in the sanctuary, will begin at 7 p.m. The title of our service will be “Mary Visits Elizabeth” (Luke 1:39-56). Moose Lodge events
The Women of the Moose meet at 6 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month.
The Loyal Order of the Moose meetings are at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. The lodge has a Thursday Fish Fry from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and weekly dinner specials are available.

Rim Country 4 Wheelers
Members of the Rim Country 4 Wheelers invite anyone interested in 4-wheeling to join them at 9 a.m. each Wednesday in the parking lot at the east end of Bashas’ by Jiffy Lube. Normally anywhere from four to a dozen or more members participate and the destination is usually determined at that time. Runs also occur once a month on a Saturday and the destination is usually predetermined at the prior month’s meeting.

Christ-Centered Recovery group meets at 6:30 p.m. every Thursday at Calvary Chapel Payson, 1103 N. Beeline Highway.
The group uses a faith-based discipleship program called One Step to Freedom. The purpose is more than to merely free dependent persons from their dependency on drugs, alcohol, or other substances, including overeating or gambling; it is also designed to bring people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Archaeological Society to meet Saturday
On Saturday, Dec. 21, Ric Alling, former Arizona Archaeological Society Rim Country Chapter board member, will be giving a presentation on Applied Archaeo-Astronomy — A Southwestern Experience.
Ric will introduce a new technology to research astronomical phenomena in native cultures.
We meet at The Church of the Holy Nativity, 1414 Easy St., Payson, on the third Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall behind the Sanctuary. The public is heartily welcome to attend our meetings and learn a little about the Prehistory of the Southwest.
Rim Country Coalition
Due to a variety of reasons, the Rim Country Coalition will not meet in December. There will be two meetings in January — 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Jan. 9 and 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24. Both will be at the Payson Senior Center.
