A low-pressure system has brought breezy conditions and cooler temperatures to Payson.

A winter weather advisory predicted snow and rain throughout Rim Country through about noon today. However, the weekend should be clear and cold.

The moisture is a welcome respite from a dry December, with 11 days since the last dose of rain — and that was only .18 of an inch. For the month, we’ve had .28 inches of rain and 1.8 inches of snow. Last December, Payson got 4.19 inches of rain and 11.8 inches of snow.

Warmer, drier conditions should set in early next week with a high near 51 and sunny skies on Christmas Day.
