Extra cops were posted at Payson High School all last week after rumors of a bomb threat circulated among students.
Police say they have looked into it and the whole thing appears to have been blown out of proportion.
Some students reportedly overheard an argument between two students and over the next few days, rumors circulated that one of the students had made a bomb threat.
When the Payson Police Department learned of the buzz, they sent officers to investigate.
They spoke with the student who had reportedly made the threat and he denied any threats of violence against either the school or other students.
As a precaution, officers searched the student’s bedroom with his consent.
They found nothing.
Still, to ease fears, Engler posted two officers at the school all week.
The student has not been charged and officers are not expected to file anything against him.
