Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce Manager John Stanton has resigned after eight years on the job to join the advertising staff at the Payson Roundup.
The chamber will host a reception for Stanton Thursday, Jan. 2, at the chamber office on Main Street to celebrate his accomplishments.
During the past year, Stanton, in conjunction with the chamber board, has helped to reorganize the chamber, worked to promote business and business development and increased chamber revenue while trimming the budget. He will continue his involvement with the chamber through its Ambassadors program.
Stanton will join the Payson Roundup staff in January, where he’ll play a key role in building up the paper’s advertising staff and helping launch and support new publications.
The Roundup has also launched a relocation guide for Realtors, visitors and homebuyers, partnered with the chamber to produce a year-round visitors guide, experimented with digital ad and publication strategies and developed an ambitious lineup of monthly special sections.
“John will bring invaluable connections with the business community,” said Roundup publisher John Naughton. “At the same time, he’ll help us make sure we’re serving the needs of the businesses on which the whole community depends.
“We will also get a chance to enhance our partnership with the chamber when it comes to promoting Rim Country.”
