Mike Pastor is now chairman of the Gila County Board of Supervisors, while Tommie Martin holds the vice chair’s seat.
The supervisors reorganized themselves at their Jan. 22 meeting. Pastor is starting his second term in office, while Martin has been on the board since her installation in January 2005.
The board members also assigned themselves to 10 other boards and commissions. Pastor will serve on the Correctional Officers Retirement Plan Local Board for Sheriff’s Office Detention Officers and Non-Uniformed Officers and the Correctional Officers Retirement Plan Local Board for Sheriff’s Office Dispatchers; the Gila County Board of Health; and Central Arizona Governments Regional Council.
Martin will serve on the County Supervisors Association Legislative Policy Committee; Eastern Arizona Counties Organization (which she is scheduled to chair); and the Environmental Economic Communities Organization. She is also scheduled to serve on the Coalitions of Counties, but the item was not included on the agenda, so the appointment will be made at a later date.
Newly elected Supervisor John Marcanti will be on the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Local Board; Gila County Local Emergency Planning Committee; and the San Carlos Apache Tribe Partnership Steering Committee.
