Junior Longhorn Wrestling Camp
This camp offers young wrestlers the opportunity to learn skills from the Payson High School coaches and players. Cost is $30 per child. Camp is for third- to eighth-graders. Camp dates are Feb. 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Meet at the Payson High School Wilson Dome Wrestling Room. Registration is open until Feb. 18.
This course is designed to teach students the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Upon successful completion of all written exams and water skills, this course certifies participants in the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and C.P.R./A.E.D. for the Professional Rescuer. This is a 31-hour course. Class size is limited, so register now! Dates: March 9 thru March 15. Fee is $75.
A Payson Area Trails System (PATS) hike of Monument Peak Loop Trail takes place at 9 a.m. Feb. 18. This beautiful route features occasional views of the Rim, an easy route and a year-round spring. Don’t forget your hiking boots and water. Meet at the Monument Peak Trailhead, 4 miles east on Granite Dells Road, 3-mile hike rated Easy.
Bass Fishing Tournament
FLW Everstart Series Bass Fishing Tournament has again selected Payson as the Host Town and Roosevelt Lake to support one of its EverStart Western Division events. Fishing will take place from Feb. 21-23. Final weigh-in will take place in the Walmart parking lot on Feb. 23.
