Currently there is a winter advisory in effect from midnight tonight to 8:00 p.m. MST Wednesday for heavy, blowing snow in Payson and the Mogollon Rim area.
Accumulating snow may begin some time after midnight tonight (Tuesday). Heavy snowfall may occur from 5:00 a.m. to noon, MST. Snow showers will decrease through the afternoon hours and diminish Wednesday night.
Accumulation of snow above 6000 feet is expected to be 6 to 12 inches by Wednesday night. 5000 to 6000 feet the level is expected to be 3 to 6 inches. Higher amounts may be possible.
Plan for hazardous winter driving conditions. Travel may be challenging because of snow packed roads and reduced visibility.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of falling snow will cause travel difficulties. Take emergency supplies; winter clothing, food, water and a flashlight.
