A man was flown to a Valley hospital Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle struck him in Payson.

The 55-year-old man was hit near Phoenix Street and Highway 87 about noon.

Payson Fire Chief Marty deMasi said the man was alert and oriented, but had several non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

It is unclear how the accident occurred or if anyone will face charges.
