Police say a routine traffic stop Wednesday afternoon netted nine grams of heroin.
Nathan O’Donnell of Payson was arrested and charged for possession of narcotic drugs.
Payson Police officer Matt Zimmerman pulled O’Donnell over just before noon and placed him under arrest for driving on a suspended license.
After a search, Zimmerman reportedly found heroin and other drug paraphernalia on O’Donnell.
Upon further investigation, officers located nine grams of heroin and other drug paraphernalia in O’Donnell’s vehicle, according to a press release.
Officers transported O’Donnell to the Gila County Jail and booked him on charges of possession of narcotic drugs for sale, transportation of narcotic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Additionally, the Gila County Attorney’s Office charged O’Donnell with use of marijuana and narcotic drugs and aggravated driving under the influence.
