A helicopter that crashed into Lake Roosevelt in December has been recovered.
Dive teams had given up on finding the four-seated copter after several failed attempts, but a Lake Havasu-based recovery team found the wreckage after only a few hours of searching Monday.
Dive Time Recovery owner and master diver Jon Zuccala said he is relived the dive went so well. When Zuccala heard initial crews had given up on finding the helicopter weeks ago, he decided to give it a go. Using information from eyewitnesses of the crash, Zuccala went out to the approximate location in the lake and used sonar to pinpoint the wreckage.

Isn't it strange the Lake Havasu recovery company found the helicopter after only a few hours? It had a week or so to sink further into the silt if there was any. Doesn't say much for the first search team.
