Police Looking For Man Missing Under Suspicious Circumstances

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Riverside, Calif. man whose vehicle was found abandonded on Highway 60 near the Salt River Canyon.

David Mark Fink, 50, was last heard from on Jan. 13 when he called his brother in Las Vegas and told him he was leaving Phoenix for Globe to take care of an errand. He said he would then drive straight through to Las Vegas.

Police discovered Fink’s black Volvo at the bottom of a canyon in the Salt River Canyon near milepost 230, but no sign of Fink.

Foul play is suspected because officers found blood on the vehicle’s front compartment.

After searching the area, officials determined Fink was not in the vehicle when it went over the embankment and into the canyon. The area where Fink’s vehicle went over the embankment was near a larger pullout that is paved on the eastbound lane side before topping out of the Salt River Canyon.

From the damage observed in the driver’s side windshield, Fink could have some sort of head and or facial injuries.

Anyone traveling through the Salt River canyon between January 13- 20 and saw the above mentioned vehicle, Fink pulled off the side of the road and or talking with anyone or any other suspicious activity please contact Det. Emmett Dickison with the Gila County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 402-4311 or edickison@gilacountyaz.gov.

Fink is 6’4”, weighs 190 pounds and has green eyes and brown hair.
